Almost 20,000 persons left the Kurdistan region for EU in 2022

Nearly 20,000 persons from Kurdistan region have moved to the European Union countries in 2022, the repatriated migrant’s association announced in a press conference on Tuesday.
The chairperson of the repatriated migrants' association, Bakr Ali said that 19.2 thousand persons from Kurdistan region used Turkish coasts and the Belarusian borders to reach European Union countries. 
According to the repatriated migrant’s association, twenty-nine persons of those who left Kurdistan region lost their lives while attempting to leave the country in 2022, seven of them are from Raperin area.
