On Wednesday, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, called on the federal government to allocate a special budget for the Halabja governorate within the budget, after it was officially considered the 19th governorate of Iraq, stressing the need to legislate the oil and gas law.

President Nechirvan Barzani said during his speech at the Seventh Sulaymaniyah International Forum that the region supports all steps of the Sudanese government, and hopes to implement the government program, which the region will be the first to support.

He added that we find the Sudanese steps are good steps and he is interested in all regions of Iraq, and we highly appreciate his government's decision to approve the federal budget and we hope that the approval of the oil and gas law will be in the same spirit.

The head of the region said: In my name and on behalf of the people of Halabja, I highly appreciate the efforts of the dear brother, the head of the Iraqi government, regarding the decision to transform Halabja into a governorate after 20 years, calling for allocating a budget for it to rebuild the governorate and compensate the families of the victims of the chemical bombing.

He stressed that since the regime change, we look forward to reviewing all the steps we took during that period.
