Destructive floods sweeping northern Kurdistan

Today, Wednesday, the Turkish authorities announced the death and loss of a number of people in the cities of Adiyaman and Sanliurfa, as a result of strong floods that hit northern Kurdistan.

Media reported that the death toll from the floods in Sanliurfa rose to 4, and Adiyaman to 4, which raises the death toll from the floods so far to 8, indicating that there are a large number of missing people who were pulled by the flood waters.

Video clips showed heavy rains and floods sweeping the Turkish province of Sanliurfa.

This comes after two devastating earthquakes struck the south of the country on the sixth of last February, which resulted in thousands of deaths and the destruction of thousands of homes and infrastructure.
