president Barzani wishes for a happy new year to all the people of Kurdistan and Iraq.

Happy New Year to the people of Kurdistan, Iraq and the rest of the world. I pray to Almighty God that 2023 will bring humanity in its entirety more peace and prosperity.

In his statement, President Barzani also spoke about the political process in Iraq and said: they believe there is a new opportunity to solve the problems between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) and the Federal Government. He also said that they will support the implementation of the agreement with all their abilities, plus those arrangements were singed between the Iraqi political parties, Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government.

President Barzani also said: There is an expectation the steps taken by the Iraqi government and the political process of Iraq will be within the constitutional framework and in the direction of the interests of the Iraqi people and taking into account the principles of consensus and balance.
