The Iraqi Council of Ministers on Tuesday decided to send a budget of 400 billion dinars to the Kurdistan Region for the salaries of its employees.

Fares Isa, head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) representation in Baghdad, stated that Baghdad has decided to spend 400 billion dinars on the salaries of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Meanwhile, Iraqi Minister of Reconstruction and Housing Bangin Rekani said the 400 billion dinars will be given as a loan to the Kurdistan Region until the approval of the budget bill. He added that the Ministry of Finance will soon be asked to go to Baghdad and complete the procedures to receive the money to provide the salaries of employees.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein has proposed to the Iraqi Council of Ministers to send a budget to the Kurdistan Region to provide salaries due to the suspension of oil exports.
